$5 Jacket, Dark Shadow and Kamikaze

I was supposed to have my class in the evening, but suddenly my friend told me that the lecturer couldn't come. And I was like jumping all over the place because I was not in the mood for class at all. So I ask my siblings whether they wanted to watch Dark Shadows. My sister said yes but unfortunately my brother have to study for an exam. So then I finally watch Dark Shadows with my sister yesterday. Yay!
Everybody was talking about the Dark Shadows  movie and I was curious but still haven't got a chance to watch it.. Overall, I think it was quite a good movie (I'm still in love with The Avengers, though). It was not scary at all, quite fun to watch. But maybe they could use a little more jokes to make it even fascinating.

Anyway, I was wearing another thrift-best-buy that I got a few weeks ago. It's an original Levi's denim jacket. I could tell that it is original by the tag (it has numbers on it). And it was only $5. Great isn't it?

Yesterday, I went to Walikota Jakarta Selatan to accompany my parents to a parent's meeting for the announcement of the candidate of Paskibraka that through to the Province of DKI Jakarta selection. Fiuh! It's kinda hard to explain them in English. LOL

Anyway, my sister got through to the Province selection. I'm so proud of her! Paskibraka stands for Pasukan Pengibar Bendera Pusaka or  Heirloom Flag Risers Troops in English. If she got through to the National selection, she will be the part of the troops who rises the heirloom flag in Indonesian Presidential Palace. Godspeed!

Guess who's celebrating? It's Guess 30th Sexy Years

Yesterday, I got a chance to attend the fascinating event by Guess. It's called "Glamorous World of GUESS. It's the gorgeous event to celebrate the 30 sexy years of Guess. Do you know how Guess started?


Guess as the famous fashion denim brand in the world has contributed in the growth of fashion for 3 decades.   Exactly 30 years ago the Marciano's launch their denim brand in California which stated their pace in the fashion world. Their success in attracting the American fashion retail industry interest revealed through the "Three zipper jeans" named Marilyn Jeans. About 30 pieces of Marilyn Jeans was sold out within 3 hours at their first start at Bloomingdale's. With the DNA which is stated in their collection that is sexy, wild and adventurous, Guess always mark their presence with the iconic piece and supermodel as their GUESS girls. Who doesn't know the gorgeous, sexy model named Claudia Schiffer? Her lace bustier with the tight jeans and sensual eyes ad campaign which was shot by Ellen von Unwerth in 1989 was the prove of the iconic creation from Guess.


Constantly carries the iconic vibe, this time Guess brings back Claudia Schiffer as their iconic 30th anniversary after becoming a phenomenon 23 years ago. Another special thing from this anniversary is that this party was celebrated all over the world at the same time and Iconic was the theme of Guess Party Celebrating 30 Sexy Year in Jakarta.


This fashion installation was placed in the Main Atrium Senayan City from 16th-20th May 2012. This installation displayed the newest iconic collection, 30th Capsule collection, in real life. Well, you could see and touch them at the same time. You could also see the ad campaign of Claudia Schiffer wearing all of those iconic collection. One word to describe them : G-O-R-G-E-O-U-S, Gorgeous! I was so fascinated with the lace bustier. I wish I had that beautiful body of Claudia Schiffer, so that I could have the guts to wear it. But well, I still also had my eyes on that leopard printed shirt.


Enough with the talking, now let me take on tour to the installation.


There are a few section for the installation, that is the Spring/Summer Collection, 30th Capsule Colletion, Nail Art and Polish, Beauty and Make Up, Multimedia and Photo Box. The best part is: They were all free!

Let's get on to the party!!! 

The event was held for 5 days, 16th-20th May 2012. On 16th Mei 2012 which is the Opening Party was hosted by Evan Sanders and Marissa Nasution. It was started with the red carpet moments with the special guest of socialites, celebrities and media partners. How can they call it a party without any music? Well, they got Dewi Sandra perform that night and also DJ Winky to get the vibe going.

As the event on 19th May, which is the Blogger Gathering with Cosmo Girl and Guess that I attended was very very crowded. I met lots of beauty and fashion bloggers, one of them is Bertha. Good thing to have new friends, hehe.  I went there with my best bloggies Lulut. The event was started around 4pm. We were taken on tours to the installation, it was quite fascinating. Then there's the styling competition. We have to wear the items from the collection that's provided and then walk in the runway. I was in doubt at first but Lulut convinced me to take part in it. I wore the leopard shirt that I've been eyeing for then walk in the runway. The runway was pretty slippery and it got the hill kind of form. As I walk down from the runway, my shoes got slipped and I fell in the runway. I laughed. It was pretty embarrassing, but well Naomi Campbell once fell too. I'm okay and survived. Haha.

The show was closed with a dance performance. Love the dancers, the move was so smooth and energetic. They definitely got  the swag!
